Apple Smoothie

There’s nothing better than an apple smoothie made from freshly picked apples! Kids love making this recipe from our book, Eating Pure in a Processed Foods World®.  It’s cool, refreshing, nutritious and filling.  If fresh picked apples aren’t available, look for Fuji, Cameo, or Braeburn apples (some of our favorite varieties).

¾ cup milk or coconut milk
1 ½ cups spinach, kale or lettuce
1 apple, peeled, cored and chopped
1 ripe banana, sliced
¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Place all ingredients in a blender in the order listed and blend to desired consistency.

Makes 1 serving.
