Clean Beauty

Did you realize that using “clean” beauty products are just as important for good health as eating pure, whole food? What you put in and on your body affects your health. Clean Beauty Products
I wish I would have known in my 20’s to read labels and the future damage that could result from using unclean beauty products. It could have saved me from reacting to multiple make-up, hair color, shower gel and lotion over the years. Hormonal issues could have been lessened and who knows how much damage may have been done to my organs that could rear its ugly head in my future.

The good news is, I now know what to look for and avoid using on my body.  These are some of the things to look for in a product. If I see any of them listed in the ingredient listing, I do not buy or use that product.

  • DBP and DEHP (endocrine-disrupting phthalates)
  • Sodium lauryl sulfates and ether sulfates – SLS and SLES
  • Parabens – methyl, propyl, butyl and ethyl
  • DEA, TEA and MEA
  • Petrolatum or petroleum jelly

I like Mineral Fusion and Beautycounter (many items from these lines are top scoring products and verified by the EWG)  skin care products and Keune Haircosmetics So Pure Natural Balance hair color. Here is a Keune salon finder link.  If you are looking for healthy beauty products to purchase visit our Products We Use page.

If you really want to experience optimal health, begin reading labels and know what is in your beauty products. Please remember, what you put in and on your body has consequences which can affect your health.

  1. Where do you buy the Mineral Fusion and Beauty counter skin care products? Online or is there a store/co-op that sells them?
