We went for a walk through the pasture this morning to check the cornfield way out back. The sumac is starting to turn, there are red grape vines hanging in the trees and the corn cobs are filling out with plump kernels to the end of the cob. We’ve turned the corner from summer to fall.
This summer went by especially fast. It seems like just yesterday the planter was sitting in the yard ready for spring planting. Today the combine sits in front of the shop getting the final “go over” before heading to the field to begin harvest. Warm days and timely rains have made a wonderful growing season in the upper Midwest. God is good and we are thankful for all he has provided.
