Preparing quinoa in the Instant Pot is quick and easy. Perfectly cooked quinoa in just a few minutes!
INSTANT POT QUINOA
1 teaspoon sesame oil or avocado oil
1 cup quinoa, rinsed
1 1/2 cups water
1 pinch of salt, optional
Rinse quinoa with cold water in a fine mesh strainer. It is important to rinse quinoa to remove the bitter saponin coating on its outer hull. Avoid soaking quinoa so the saponins can’t leach into the seeds.
Pour oil in the Instant Pot to coat the bottom. Place rinsed quinoa and 1-1/2 cups of water in the Instant Pot. Lock the lid and set steam valve to “sealing” position. Select the “manual” button and set for 1 minute using the +/- button. Allow pressure to release naturally for 10 minutes. Move valve to “venting” position to release any remaining pressure.
Makes 3 cups
