Matthew 9:37 (ESV)
Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
Psalm 43:3 (ESV)
Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling!
I woke up this morning with two thoughts running through my mind and how they might possibly connect:
1. The increasing number of people who are experiencing a health challenge or crisis at a younger age.
2. The verse in Matthew where Jesus told his disciples the harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few.
I believe the Bible is our guide and instruction book for living. Even though it was written approximately two thousand years ago, the Word stands true and can be applied to our everyday life. With that in mind, how do you think these verses apply right now in 2017?
The Matthew verse makes me think of many people just ready and waiting to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ. And what makes a person ready? Many times God uses trials and struggles to prepare a person’s heart. I also believe God uses ordinary people and circumstances to bring people together to help each other and show God’s love. Put these two verses together and I can’t help but think there might be someone out there right now experiencing a health challenge or crisis that is waiting to have someone come alongside them, mentor them, encourage them and be the light of Jesus to them.
I would love it if you, and other Farm Girl Fresh followers, would go out into your community and circle of influence to help us take the message of healthy eating (and making healthy lifestyle choices in all areas of life) to all people. Would you like to help us? Together we can shine His light and make the world a little brighter!
