If you are looking for a way to make quick and easy meals, without skimping on taste, you need a slow cooker. My slow cookers are probably one of the most used tools in my kitchen. I admit, I have three different sizes and they all get used! Probably the most used however, is my Hamilton Beach Stay or Go 6-Quart Portable Slow Cooker. I use this size to cook whole chickens, make broth, soups, stews and other slow cooker meals. It is practically a permanent fixture on my kitchen counter. So many uses! It is a great tool for a family on-the-go. Just fill it up in the morning and dinner will be waiting when you get home.
A few suggestions when looking to purchase your new slow cooker, first, find one that has different temperature settings. I have found this to be a critical feature. It allows you more options depending on what you are cooking. Another thing to look at, is the shape. If you are looking to cook a whole chicken in a slow cooker, the round design is not going to work very well. Do you take your slow cooker to potlucks or parties? If so, you might like one that is portable with easy tote handles. Think about how you are going to use this tool and then purchase the one that best fits your needs.
After using your new 6 quart slow cooker, you might just find yourself in the store aisle looking for another size just like I did.
