Have you noticed the different colors of farm machinery as you drive through the country? Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, and Orange – All colors of different lines of agricultural equipment (Case IH, John Deere, Kubota and New Holland to name a few). Each farmer having their own preferred line of machinery (they’re pretty loyal to their colors).
When I was growing up on the farm, my dad’s preferred line of equipment was Allis Chalmers. You don’t see these orange tractors in the fields today, but I have great memories of these tractors. I remember my dad having a WD45 and a d17. And as a young farm girl, it was big stuff when I got to drive these tractors.
This weekend, July 22nd – 24th, Colleen and I have the opportunity to participate in the “Orange Spectacular” held in Hutchinson, Minnesota. This is the 25th anniversary celebration of the Allis Chalmers line of equipment. On Friday morning, around 10 a.m., Farm Girl Fresh will be giving a demonstration on how to grow, preserve, and prepare zucchini and share the health benefits of this vegetable. We will also have a booth at this event where you can purchase your own copy of Eating Pure in a Processed Foods World™.
Check out this free event at http://www.orangespectacular.com/. It sounds like a fun family event that includes activities for all ages. Hope to see you this weekend!
