When I was in my early thirties, I was oblivious to signs my body was giving me that I may have an underlying health issue brewing inside of me. Constipation was a normal part of my life, as was dry skin and feeling tired most of the time. But I thought I was healthy compared to others in my family who were experiencing more visible health issues. We were navigating through one health crisis after another – ear infections resulting in multiple sets of tubes, off-the-charts pollen allergies, food sensitivities, headaches, and digestive issues. Visits to more specialists, surgeries, blood tests, allergy shots, elimination diets… all to no avail. Fast forward fifteen years. After lots of research and making a lifestyle change to eating whole, pure food, our family started noticing health improvements, including myself. I had more energy, my skin was less dry and no more constipation.
Has your healthcare provider told you to change your diet and eat healthier? Are you feeling overwhelmed and don’t know where to start? I understand, because I’ve been there. And although it’s been several years now, I’m sure glad our family made the change. It is my hope that we can help guide you through this lifestyle transition and make the process easier for you.
We (myself and Joyce) at Farm Girl Fresh, believe eating whole, pure food as it’s found in nature, gives your body the nutrients it needs for optimal health. And although we are not one diet specific, we do acknowledge there may be seasons in your life where you need to restrict certain foods for a period of time to help reset your body to regain better health. At various times, members of my family (children and grandchildren) have been on and off gluten-free, dairy-free and GAPS.
With that being said, Farm Girl Fresh has provided another simple tool to help you transform your health by eating pure food using our recipes. To make it easy for you, we have broken down all of the recipes from our book (over 300) into six different categories: Autoimmune Paleo, Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, GAPS, Ketogenic, and Paleo. We’ve done the work for you so you don’t have to!
Personally, we have found that menu planning is key to being successful in making this lifestyle change. By using these Farm Girl Fresh Menu Guides along with our book, you can easily plan your weekly meals based on your own specific needs and tastes/likes. You can design your own menu plan unique to you! Each guide is a valuable tool which will save you lots of time while giving you the freedom to decide what recipes you’d like to incorporate into your plan.
And do you know what’s best of all? The Farm Girl Fresh lifestyle of eating is sustainable! No counting calories, carbs or sugars. Just eat pure food. So when you are ready to transition off whatever specific diet you’ve been on, join the Farm Girl Fresh movement. It’s a great follow-up that you will benefit from the rest of your life!
